About Me

Choosing Meaning

Hi, my name is Aohan.
I’m a Staff Software Engineer at Seagate’s Equipment Design Engineering (EDE) team in Singapore.
My work involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop machine vision solutions for assembly equipment—where software, hardware, and real‑world constraints intersect.

I’m always on the lookout for ideas, systems, and experiences that intrigue and inspire me.
A few things that consistently shape how I think and live:

  • Coding
I love coding because it reveals the quiet beauty of logic and structure beneath complex problems. It is both precise and creative—a disciplined way to turn ideas into reality.

  • Basketball
Basketball teaches me about teamwork, timing, and communication under pressure. It’s where strategy meets instinct, both physically and mentally.

  • Gaming
I’m drawn to immersive and thought‑provoking games like Dark Souls and The Witcher—worlds that are challenging, atmospheric, and often quietly philosophical.

  • Liverpool FC
As a devoted fan, I admire the club’s resilience and fighting spirit, especially in moments where giving up would be easier.

A Note on How I See Life

I believe that death is certain,
and that once it arrives, it no longer belongs to the one who has died—
because there is no longer a subject who can feel it.
Its weight falls entirely on those who are still alive.

Because the end exists, the present matters.
Because time is limited, choice cannot be postponed.

Existence comes before essence.
I am not defined in advance by a title or expectation,
but shaped over time by the decisions I make,
and by what I choose to take responsibility for.

The world does not guarantee meaning.
In that quiet indifference, meaning is not discovered—it is assumed.
To care, to build, to love, even without assurance,
is a way of resisting emptiness with intent.

Freedom is not light.
It comes without excuses and without substitutes.
And so, I try to live consciously—
aware that this life is mine to own.
